Future of VR for the elderly. Are there any decent VR travel type apps for people in the later stages in their life that can’t travel as much? OR elderly-friendly apps in general?

A place to discuss any and all things Virtual Reality. This isn’t really something that I need though it would be cool, but I was talking to my father whos a pretty big tech nerd but has never tried VR. I’ve personally only tried it once for a few minutes but cant wait to get it someday. Anyways he’s in his mid-70s and while he still gets around now he was talking about his hopes for VR someday. Basically, he was like if he’s still around 10 years from now, even though he’s healthy, it would be incredible to basically travel through VR. Once it’s a lot harder to walk around and take long flights and wait in long lines and everything that comes with traveling, will there essentially be vacations you can take in VR? I assume there is stuff like this now with google street view maybe but even going on my computer looking at street view it isn’t perfect and doesn’t seem THAT amazing. Maybe it’s a lot better in VR. Either way, besides games, and it even doesn’t have to be traveling, what is the future looking like for VR for the elderly? I know my grandmother in the last years of her life at 96 when she was stuck in a bed 24 hours a day in a nursing home would have loved to have been able to walk through her old neighborhood, or through the streets of Italy, but beyond that even I’m curious about what other types of VR programs could be useful without standing and walking around. Like my father loved video games back in the day up until PlayStation 2 when things got a bit more complex. Mostly because of the controllers and how games went from 2d to 3d and using camera angles. Maybe VR would be easier for him now, as long as he can do it from his recliner. Thanks!
