A site to discuss Google Cardboard and similar virtual reality viewers, their software, other content and subjects related for phone based VR. I just discovered these in my closet. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Onn-Virtual-Reality-Headset-Blue/801971540 Lets just says I watched an NSFW VR vid….. Whqt I notice is at first watching it on the computer did not do anything at all, I still saw two screens and it was blurry while wearing the ONN VR Phone headset. However once I insreted my phone to watch the same vid……. Wow it became one screen! And parties involved in the vid….. When one of them came close, it hand was gonna touch me hen she came closer. It literally felt like I can see everything come out larger like I’m there. Precisely the effect of watching a movie in 3D in theaters! That said it wouldn’t work on some other VR games and SFW interactive videos that does’t use double screen such as the more advanced true 3D mobile VR games that require blue tooth controller. All that appeared was blurry movies on a single screen (which I assumed was due to lack of screen in half with mirror image lie in the trailers of the NSFW vids). But according tot the description of NSFW vid, you are supposed to see a whole room that changes as you turn and tilt your head around. Like you are literally there and you can see different angles during the action taking place.. Same with the SFW VR movies and various VR gaming apps on Googleplay requiring bluetooth controller. Not just suddenly 3D enhancements so common when wearing 3D glasses while I was watching The Hobbit and Harry Potter in 3D at the local Theaters. That its the closest thing to watching movies in person and alternate virtual reality video games so commonly portrayed in Sci Fi movies and TV shows like the blank training room in various X-Men series that suddenly create a computerized arena for training (that in reality is just all in your mind!). So I am wondering if Google Cardboard is worth it? I know its actually a relatively cheap device so it lacks the true alternate world camera and separate game controllers Oculus and other expensive VR Headgear have. But is there any edge to it over a generic $7 VR Headset you find at Walmart like the Onn Device? Should I order one to replace my Onn Headset? Is it better than generic brand names period, not just Onn?
