Is VR tech getting close to fully immersive?

A place to discuss any and all things Virtual Reality. I’m a PC enthusiast. Due to my line of work and my affinity for the best graphics I always have a top of the line gaming PC. I’m always interested in VR, but I feel like the tech isn’t quite there for what I want. I know with the newest gpu’s, high refresh rate OLED screens, higher bandwidth cables we have to be getting pretty close to the point where I might jump in. I was thinking when VR got to the point where you could display two 4k screens at 120+hz that would be the point where VR becomes fully immersive. I think with the newest DLSS and FSR tech along with fully path traced lighting we have to be getting pretty close. What do you think the specs need to be for a VR experience that is almost indistinguishable from looking at something in real life?
