Nintendo Switch VR, the future of switch

The central hub for all news, updates, rumors, and topics relating to the Nintendo Switch. We are a fan-run community, not an official Nintendo forum. I saw a recent post earlier about future incremental improvements in switch hardware and what that can lead too. And that got me thinking – Well seeing as Nintendo is making OLED switches, I would say continue to shrink it down and make it more compact is the obvious answer (lighter, cheaper, power efficient)…However VR is always an option for Nintendo https://www.behance.net/gallery/48253013/NINTENDO-SWITCH-VR Ok so I guess there has already been a viral story of Nintendo switch VR, this is an award winning concept art for Nintendo switch vr. If they can shrink the OLED switch enough, they can sell a headset + pro joycons for VR. Nothing really sells VR – nothing except games, and Nintendo is king in exclusives. So if they build it, it will sell. However it’s gotta be some really good hardware It could do really well by not cannabalizing switch sales, and making switch feel new again even 10 years from now. Since the switch is OLED, there would be no screen door effect, the battery improvements would continue, it would be lighter hopefully not metal body. That tablet would be a perfect transition to a Nintendo VR headset The great thing about Nintendo switch VR is that everyone who didn’t buy Zelda BOTW now has to buy it to play the greatest VR game ever, same with Mario kart, same with arms, same with Mario, etc. Everyone will have to continue to buy the existing game catalog in addition to a new must have VR hardware. And the price for Nintendo switch games will still be 60$ because of it’s new value in the VR space! Nintendo will make a killing in VR. Personally I don’t know think they will do it anytime soon maybe they are still making a killing with their current hardware. I would just make sure they have a good porting studio for VR. And continue to make really interesting games – for example Browsers fury felt like a next-gen game to me and it’s probably the best fit for a VR game as well. So as long as Nintendo continues to innovate in gameplay and make games that can be ported to VR. There is a possibility for it to launch with 30 games compatible. But given how hype and news cycles go… a VR release could take years of teasing and on release only have 4 games at launch. And still be the best experience money can buy… Which brings me to price VR headset based on the concept would be 150$ maximum, its an add-on appliance for the switch handheld. VR games would cost the same as switch games. And moving forward switch games will be built with VR in mind so a lot of 3rd person games. It would be king of portable VR right off the bat and blow people away, with family friendly and familiar titles and other VR like Facebook meta wouldn’t compete even though they are 5 VR headsets in. Other companies however offer a different experience with higher graphics, hdr, 4k, 120hz like psvr2 or valve index vr
