Other than gaming, what do you use your VR for?

A place to discuss any and all things Virtual Reality. I just upgraded from Quest 2 to 3 and I’m quite pleased with it in game. But now I’m wondering what else I can do with it when I don’t feel like playing. So for what other non-gaming things do you use your headset?

What do you use your VR system for?

A place to discuss any and all things Virtual Reality. Hi everyone! I’m curious to see the primary ways people use their headsets. What role does gaming, exercise, media consumption, professional use, social interaction, education, and virtual travel play in how you use virtual reality? I have a Quest 2 and thoroughly enjoyed playing Resident Evil 4. I also played some shorter games and I love how immersive VR is for gaming. However, my main use for the Quest is exercise. I play Thrill of the Fight almost every day. I have lost 8 inches and have been enjoying it quite a bit. I play other games like Until You Fall and Pistol Whip as well. I also love using Wander. I love seeing what’s out there. The social part is fantastic too since it takes me places I wouldn’t think to go. It’s also one of my main selling points to family and friends. My parents have enjoyed using it when I visit them to check out areas of a big trip they just left on. It helped get them even more excited and allowed them to set their expectations for certain parts of the trip. I rediscovered my love of Tetris. Tetris Effect is part of my post-exercise cool down. It’s a great way to relax without being a time commitment. I also enjoy Walkabout Mini Golf. It’s a fun and well-made game that I’m able to play with friends and by myself. It’s a great way to catch up with people that live hundreds of miles away. There are even times I enjoy flying to the top of a mountain in the course and just relax while taking in the view and the sounds. I’m at the age where I don’t have the time to commit to more in depth games. I loved Resident Evil 4, but it drove home the fact that I’m not the demographic for the game! Playing through the game was amazing though. I’m really curious to see how VR is currently being used and how it will develop going forward.
