Subreddit for Samsungs Gear VR Using GearVR in 2023 I was in the same predicament as many, struggling to get this to work in 2023. See below the steps I took to sort this out: Phone used is an oldGalaxy Note 9 with Android 10 Connected GearVR to Note9 warned about installing Oculus apps. I disconnected it and let it download all necessary apps. Opening Oculus GearVR app I was presented with the login screen. It no longer accepts an Oculus account however can use a Facebook account. Method 1: Merge old Oculus with a new Meta account and Meta account with a new Facebook account. If all goes well you should be able to login then see them here:https://accountscenter.meta.com/profiles I was able to see all my old purchases in the Oculus orders page here:https://secure.oculus.com/my/orders/ Disable 2-factor auth from Meta account beforehand otherwie it will throw an error saying your account has 2 factor auth enabled and that is not supported in the Oculus GearVR app. Disable it here:https://auth.meta.com/settings/security/ Now, back to the Galaxy Note9, it should let you login but the store page is no longer showing. Library shows your apps and games but when tapping any app or game, it will throw an error “Something went wrong while loading this product”. Instead, tap the three dots next to the name of your app and tap “Install” – this will install it in the background. Method 2: (if you are absolutely unable to use the above method and dont want to deal with Meta support) This step involves enabling the Gear VR developer mode. Start by going in your phone settings -> apps -> GearVR services -> storage – manage storage – tap few times on “VR Service Version” to enable the developer menu and enable the following Developer mode Add icon to homescreen ( it’s the second developer option) Allow VW API without OSIG Now if you go on your app drawer from your homescreen you will see “Gear VR Service”. You will be able to open any VR apps from there thta you have previously installed via APK method! Alternatively (I have not tested this) you can use the Gala Launcher from urlhttps://apkcombo.com/gala-launcher-for-gear-vr/com.ihanghai.galalauncher/and it will run a launcher that you can use to open any of your VR apps.
