Hello, I have recently picked gaming and VR up again after about 1.5 years due to work & life taking over… with a bit more cash this time. I was playing VR for a long time but started running into a lot of FPS issues as modern games started to get more intense. Now that I have the cash to get a decent system, what GPU & CPU would be sufficient to comfortably run 120fps on most VR games? I can buy a 4090, but I do not want to spend £800 for an extra 30fps if my headset can only display 120Hz if you get what I mean. Also, CPU-wise just something that wouldn’t bottleneck the GPU (much). I was looking at the 4070 Super or 4070Ti Super but I’m not quite sure if the extra £200 would even be noticeable. I may go for a ryzen 7 processor which should be alright. My work has supplied me a kick-ass workstation laptop to run all of their programs so that I don’t need to make my gaming rig work-focused. For normal gaming I’m not fussy if it runs at 1080p at 60fps (which I know it won’t be that bad lol), I just get headaches with the VR low fps stuttering from my old rig. Old PC specs (from the top of my head): RTX 2060 OC Ryzen 5 2600X 80GB RAM 3200MHz (Yes I know it’s a lot, I was using virtual machines for work) B450 Motherboard Hope you guys can help, thanks in advance 🙂 Edit: I have found my pick! I’m going for an RTX 4070 Super and a Ryzen 5800X3D. I was going to go for the 4070Ti Super, but could justify the money for performance increase. The 7800X3D would force me to buy a new mother board and DDR5 RAM, which is a bit excessive. Thanks guys.
